Book review- to kill a mockingbird

Hi everyone!
I've been reading an English book, it's called " to kill a mockingbird" this post is going to be a book review about what I've been reading this far.

The book's main character is Jean Louise Finch, the little girl is known in the book as Scout. The story is also narrated by her.

The story is taking place in Maycomb County in the 30- centuries, in America.

I didn't actually realise Scout was a girl before it was mentioned  after a few pages, because she acted very like a boy. The cook mentioned she couldn't behave as well as her brother especially because he's older than she is. In the 30:ies, most girls wouldn't behave badly which made me believe she was a boy.
pg 6. "She was always ordering me out of the kitchen, asking me why I couldn't behave as well as Jem when she knew he was older."

Scout is a stubborn girl, and isn't a girly girl that likes to sit down when something needs to be said. Like in the classroom when she tells ms. fisher that the boy didn't have food because he was a Cunningham. She seems to be a intelligent girl considering her young age.

We also get introduced to Jem, he is protective of Scout and takes care of her. I think because their mother passed away and Jem wants to fill the empty space.

Their father Atticus, seems to want his children to be independent. He is quietly isolated and is working the most of the time.

Here is the a few characters that has been introduced this far in the book:
From what I've been reading I think that this family is coloured.
pg. 27. " There's some folks who don't eat like us, she whispered fiercely, but you ain't called on to contradict 'em at the table when you don't. That boy's yo' comp'ny and if he wants to eat the table-cloth you let him ,you hear?"

I think because it's mentioned they're poor they are not that clean, but I imagine Scout is short and has a very cute face. Because she has a strong personality, I also imagine she has black curly hair. Jem I imagine is not tall nor short, and as her sister has curly black hair but very short. I think he wears a pair of worn trousers and a vest. I think Atticus has a shirt and a vest over it, and he has well ironed trousers with sharp folds.

The family are true to life and seem to be a ordinary family in the 30:ies in America. The father want them to go to school like everybody else, while he goes to his work. Because even though he said they are poor Atticus still sits down with Jem and Scout every night and teaches them to read because he wants them to be educated.

I think the beginning will be repeated somewhere in the continuation, that we will be given answers to what the events leading up to the accident.  In the beginning she first explains Jem's broken arm and she explains how they sometimes discuss the events leading up to his accident.
Pg. 1  "When enough years had gone by to enable us to look back on them, we sometimes discussed the events leading up to his accident."
